During the colonial times, alcohol consumption was quite common with men and women. It was a custom to pause for drinks several times a day.
A recent study found that women who consumed as little as one alcoholic drink a week during pregnancy were about three times as likely as nondrinkers to have a child diagnosed with behavioral problems such as aggression and difficulty paying attention.
